Here’s an interview with a cheeky, slightly sloshed Matthew Goode. God, he’s so cute. Listen to that plummy accent. Really the best part is the very beginning when he gets the wine.
He does talk about Watchmen which is cool, but he can be irresistably charming even without the weight of a mega blockbuster behind him.
If you actually know me, and we speak on a regulart to quasi-regular basis, you’ll know that “Mergh” has been the status of my Gmail chat button for a while now.
Mergh.
It pretty much says it all, doesn’t it? Conveying those feelings of restless disapproval of the current state of being, a substantial chunk of heartache, a dash of fear, with anxiety to taste. And it’s not any kind of seasonal blues. I LOVE autumn. In fact, I’m more upset at myself for not enjoying my favorite time of year more!!! I haven’t visited a single pumpkin patch (the big tub at Sainsburys does not count) and am going to be too skint to send Halloween out in style. So much for October!
On a good note, I apparently have a new flatmate, as of a few hours ago, this really lovely Kiwi lady said she would be happy to take our old flatmate’s bedroom for the 2 month remainder of our lease. So I hope that works out well. If not….fuck it, you know? It’s only two more months.
To cheer myself, (and inspire you to do the same) visit www.icanhascheezburger.com for all of your hysterically funny- yet verging on “cat lady”- needs.
Usually in the UK, we’re 6-8 weeks (and sometimes longer) behind on US films. It can be a bit of a bummer, to get messages from friends saying something like “Tropic Thunder was so awesome, you saw it right?” and have to shamedly hang my head.
But now, because it’s LONDON FILM FESTIVAL time (woo hoo!!) movies are descending upon London like locusts! And it’s quite awesome. I’m hoping to catch a few things (even though the ticket prices are way jacked up). I’m a bit bummed I missed the only two screenings of Frost/Nixon though. I’m dying to see that.
But the point is, even if I don’t catch it at the LFF, the new James Bond Quantum of Solace will be released wide on October 31st here, and two weeks later in America!!!
And even though I sort of love going to see a Bond flick on Thanksgiving with my family (like we did for Casino Royale, possibly the best Thanksgiving night EVER) I’ll be happy to see it Halloween afternoon (because you KNOW I gotta go out Halloween night!) with my friends here.
Also, I’ve decided that even though the video is laughably bad, I really like the Jack White/Alicia Keyes Bond theme, “Another Way To Die.” Check that shiz out.
This photo of the cast of the new Star Trek (along with 10 more pics) surfaced on www.ew.com today for my dork-tacular viewage.
I dunno. I’m not sure I’m havin’ it, do be honest.
Maybe it will be great. But when I look at that photo and I see
*Harold from Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle
*Shaun from Shaun of the Dead
Alongside one of the guys with long hair from Lord of the Rings, the sassy dancer from Center Stage and the so-wrong-but-so-right love interest from The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement I’m just not 100% sure I see a movie I can go to without having consumed beer heavily beforehand.
Someone at the Walt Disney company needs to be given a major pay raise: NOW!!
This brave, ingenious, creative soul, has managed to turn base metal into gold. This incredible man/woman/child(?) has cut together what may be the most phenomenal-looking trailer for High School Musical 3: Senior Year. Don’t believe me? Look for yourself. Possibly the greatest preview to grace cinema screens since Step Up 2 The Streets.
WOW!! The song alone gets me pumped. The dancing looks really good, and amazingly, I can sort of ignore the fact that the majority of the cast give me the heebie-jeebies.
So whoever you are at Disney, well done. Your amazing work has not gone unnoticed.
Now, who’s coming with me to get sloshed, go to a packed showing, and loudly declare their unchecked lust for Zac Efron? C’mon! Who’s coming with me?
