Humans could marry robots within the century. And consummate those vows.

“My forecast is that around 2050, the state of Massachusetts will be the first jurisdiction to legalize marriages with robots,” artificial intelligence researcher David Levy at the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands told LiveScience. Levy recently completed his Ph.D. work on the subject of human-robot relationships, covering many of the privileges and practices that generally come with marriage as well as outside of it.

At first, sex with robots might be considered geeky, “but once you have a story like ‘I had sex with a robot, and it was great!’ appear someplace like Cosmo magazine, I’d expect many people to jump on the bandwagon,” Levy said.

Uhm. Yikes. I mean, sure it would be great to program all the characteristics of a loving boyfriend into the robot body of a sexy dude (like Jude Law in AI: Artificial Intelligence, the worst movie ever), but COME THE FUCK ON.

I love that this guy (from the University I can’t pronounce) thinks that Massachusetts is going to be the first ones to say yes to it as well. Sure, it’s a great, liberal, and open-minded state, but I can’t really see the good people of Boston, for example, being excited to have sex with a robot.

“I’m not gonna fuck some queer ass roh-bat you fucking fuck.” (yes, in my mind everyone in Boston sounds exactly like Ben Affleck in Good Will Hunting)
